What IS Sword of Moonlight: King's Field Making Tool?? Sword of Moonlight is a program for Windows that allows you to construct King's Field themed, free-standing PC games. SoM is quite rare and was only released in Japan. But since I've done this translation, we'll hopefully start to see some fan-made games in English. King's Field is first-person RPG game series made by From Software in Japan and brought to the USA by Agetec (formerly ASCII). It has had installments on the Playstation, Playstation 2, PSP and mobile phone.

Where can I get a copy of Sword of Moonlight? It's very rare to find in the USA. Every now and then a copy comes up on Yahoo Auctions Japan and you might be able to buy one of these through a bid forwarding service.

I want to make my own constructor parts for SoM. Is there an easy way to do that? Absolutely! From Software made a set of tools which let you edit various aspects of objects used in Sword of Moonlight. These tools also let you convert standard 3D ' *. X ' files into SoM format 3D. The tools can be downloaded from From Software site and a translation patch for them is available here in the downloads section.
With a little common sense you can even modify objects beyond the tools built in ability by manually editing the part's configuration file.

I've made some custom SoM objects. Will you post them so that other people can download and use them? Yes! I hope to foster a KF game making community and any custom made object for SoM would be great. The more original the better. Write me at [email protected]
